Cyberfest returns Oct. 3 with free competition, coached practices, solo player team placement, prizes, UNLV scholarship opportunities, and more.

This event is about giving young gamers a place to compete, improve and see where esports can take them.”

LAS VEGAS, NV, UNITED STATES, September 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Las Vegas gamers will take center stage this October as Valhallan Esports Training presents the second annual Valhallan Cyberfest 2026, a major free VALORANT tournament for high school and college students taking place during UNLV Cyber Week.

The tournament will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. inside the BEH Atrium at Frank & Estella Beam Hall on the UNLV campus. Admission is free for both players and spectators.

Following a successful inaugural event in 2025 that drew more than 300 attendees, 16 competing teams and approximately 400 online viewers, organizers are preparing for an even larger experience in 2026, with a target attendance of more than 500 students, families and esports fans.

Designed to be much more than a traditional gaming tournament, Cyberfest brings competitive esports, college opportunities, technology and career exploration together under one roof.

The tournament will feature two 5v5, single-elimination VALORANT divisions: a 16-team high school bracket and an 8-team collegiate bracket, with the collegiate competition co-hosted by UNLV Rebel Gaming.

Players can register as a complete team or enter individually. Students who do not already have a squad can register as solo players and be placed onto teams by organizers, giving newcomers and independent competitors a clear pathway into tournament play.

Registration is available online and closes Friday, September 25. Tournament brackets are scheduled to be revealed Monday, September 28.

Free Coaching Before Tournament Day

To help competitors prepare, Valhallan Esports Training will host free coached 5v5 practice scrimmages on Saturdays, September 19 and September 26 at its Las Vegas training facility at 500 E. Windmill Lane, Suite 100.

The sessions are designed to help players sharpen their skills, experience organized competitive play and connect solo competitors with potential teammates before the bracket is finalized.

“This event is about giving young gamers a place to compete, improve and see where esports can take them,” said Morris Jackson, CEO and Owner of Valhallan. “Whether someone already has a full team or is showing up on their own, we want them to have access to coaching, competition and opportunities they may not have experienced before.”

Competition With Real Opportunities

Winning competitors will play for prizes + UNLV scholarship opportunities for winning teams, creating an opportunity for students to connect their passion for gaming with potential educational pathways.

Attendees and competitors will also have opportunities to receive gaming-related prizes and giveaways, including peripherals such as keyboards, headsets, headphones, gaming accessories and other equipment.

But Cyberfest is being built to extend beyond the bracket.

The event will also feature free-play gaming stations, a vendor expo and a College & Career Row, where students and families can connect with representatives from UNLV admissions, cybersecurity programs, and military and veteran organizations.

The competition builds toward casted finals on the LED main stage beginning at approximately 3:30 p.m., giving finalists the chance to compete in a true live-event environment in front of fellow students, families and spectators.

Part of UNLV Cyber Week

Cyberfest 2026 takes place as part of UNLV Cyber Week, September 28 through October 3, connecting competitive gaming with the rapidly expanding worlds of cybersecurity, technology, education and digital careers.

For high school students, that means the opportunity to compete on a college campus, represent their school and explore what their interests in gaming could become after graduation.

For collegiate competitors, it is an opportunity to represent their campus, compete against other teams and potentially reach a championship match cast live on the event’s LED main stage.

And for families, Cyberfest provides a free, supervised college-campus event that connects esports with genuine college and career pathways.
