The French watch-safe specialist presents configurable Régent safes with integrated winding, personalized interiors and security options up to Grade V.
PARIS, FRANCE, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Mercier & Fils, the French luxury watch-safe specialist, presents its Régent high-security watch-safe configurations to private collectors in the United States. The collection combines personalized interiors, integrated watch winding and security options extending to EN 1143-1 Grade V, bringing the organization of a watch collection into the design of the home itself.
A watch collection carries more than monetary value. It records the memory of an acquisition, an appreciation of mechanical craft and the anticipation of the next exceptional piece. As that collection grows, its owner faces a practical question: how should the watches be protected, organized and kept ready to wear?
Régent approaches that question through a configurable safe whose interior, finish and level of protection are considered together. The result is a place for the collection that balances physical security with everyday access and a distinctive visual presence.
Beyond the Traditional Watch Box
An automatic watch, a manually wound complication and a piece reserved for special occasions do not necessarily call for identical storage. Jewelry, spare straps and collection documents add further requirements.
Régent interiors can combine individually controlled winding positions, dedicated watch storage, jewelry compartments and flat-bottom drawers. Each element has a different purpose, allowing the arrangement to follow the way the collection is used rather than simply its total number of watches.
A twenty-watch collection, for example, may benefit from active winding positions for regularly worn automatic pieces, alongside static storage for other timepieces. A larger collection may call for forty winding positions, with drawer space reserved for jewelry and accessories.
For Mercier & Fils, the design brief begins with those distinctions. The number of winders, the balance of drawers and the selected finish form part of the same conversation, allowing a private commission to reflect both present needs and plans for the collection.
Two Expressions of the Régent Collection
The Régent XL — Tiphaine illustrates this approach through twenty winding positions, a midnight-blue leather exterior and a contrasting turquoise interior. Its drawer arrangement and quilted inner door give the presentation a character distinct from conventional secure storage.
The Régent XL 40 — Daytona offers another interpretation, with forty winding positions and a dark interior emphasizing the geometry of the modules and storage compartments. The pictured configuration pairs that interior with a light exterior, demonstrating how the visual identity can change with the selected finish.
These configurations illustrate the scope of the interior and finish program. Security specifications are established separately for the construction selected for each project.
TimeDrive M1: Individual Settings for Individual Watches
Integrated TimeDrive™ M1 watch winders, powered by Coil Winding Technology, provide individual winding settings for automatic watches. Turns per day and rotation direction can be adjusted for each module according to the requirements of the movement it accommodates.
This matters in a collection that combines watches from different manufacturers. A setting suitable for one movement may differ from the recommendation for another; individual controls allow the owner to approach each watch on its own terms.
Winding is considered alongside static storage, rather than as a requirement for every timepiece. Watches that are stored at rest can retain their own place within the interior, while selected automatic pieces occupy the winding modules.
The surrounding materials, colors and drawer layouts can be chosen to complement a dressing room, study or dedicated collection space. Optional Signature Lighting illuminates the interior from above and from both sides, revealing the watches and finishes whenever the door opens.
Protection Beneath the Finish
Behind the decorative surfaces, the protective construction remains central to the project. STRATIUM™ is Mercier & Fils’ high-performance concrete composite, developed for the protective structure of its safes with resistance to forced attack and fire exposure in mind.
The material belongs to the physical construction of the safe, while TimeDrive M1 addresses the winding of automatic watches. This distinction gives the technologies complementary roles: one concerns the protective enclosure, the other the organization and use of the collection within it.
Régent offers three security configurations. FORT™ provides reinforced security. VAULT™ introduces certified EN 1143-1 Grade I protection. ELITE™ offers advanced security through certified Grade III configurations.
For private commissions requiring a higher specification, Grades IV and V are available on request. These projects are developed around the selected certified safe construction, with dimensions, weight, access requirements and interior architecture considered together.
The European EN 1143-1 standard provides the burglary-resistance framework for the certified configurations. Within the Régent program, the specified grade is tied to the selected safe construction, allowing protection to be chosen as deliberately as the finish and drawer arrangement.
Planning for the American Home
For U.S. collectors, the project extends beyond the interior. The intended location, delivery route and handling requirements are considered before production, particularly where a certified construction changes the weight or overall dimensions of the safe.
Dimensions are provided in inches and weight in pounds for American clients. This allows the proposed configuration to be reviewed in relation to doorways, access routes and its final position within the residence.
Delivery arrangements can include curbside service or white-glove placement in the room of the client’s choice, according to the selected service and access conditions. Installation and anchoring requirements can be discussed as part of the project planning.
