We built the HMS to be so practical that you can use it with your next client or patient on Monday morning, all courses are approved for CEs, and we put it inside a membership so it is affordable.”

The Brookbush Institute has published an updated comparison of what the major corrective exercise certifications cost in 2026. The article checks the price of each program on the provider’s own website, links to the page where the price appears, and compares the programs on the same traits: format, content volume, assessment, time limits, renewal, and distinctive features.

A corrective exercise certification is often the first credential a trainer adds after a CPT. For physical therapists, athletic trainers, and chiropractors, it is the most advanced therapeutic exercise education available. Either way, it is usually the second time a professional pays for a textbook and an exam.

What the comparison found:

The major corrective exercise certifications cost $500 to $1,199 each, after a CPT. When checked in October 2026: NASM $899 or $1,199 list ($637 or $757 on sale), ACE $555 list, ISSA $639.24, Gray Institute $599, FMS Level 1 and Level 2 $599 each or $1,198 as a bundle, and PRI $500 per primary course.
NASM sells its Corrective Exercise Specialization on payment plans of up to 17 months. The product page shows only the lowest monthly figure, and exam extensions and additional retests cost extra.

ACE’s Corrective Exercise Specialist Program is also sold inside a 24-month subscription that cannot be paused or canceled once started.
PRI’s home-study courses must be completed within 21 days of access, and FMS’s online courses expire one year after purchase.
Corrective exercise certifications are specialty credentials, and specialty credentials are generally not NCCA-accredited, including the Brookbush Institute’s.

The Brookbush Institute’s Human Movement Specialist (HMS) certification is included in membership ($39/month or $399/year), with no exam fees, retake fees, or recertification fees. It is built from 50 credits of short courses with iterative testing instead of a summative final exam. It also includes a corrective exercise program generator, sample programs in nearly every course, and an AI tutor built on Brookbush Institute content. Every course is built from a comprehensive systematic research review, and every credit counts toward continuing education and recertification.

“A corrective exercise certification should be among the most practical education a movement professional ever buys,” said Dr. Brent Brookbush, DPT, founder and CEO of the Brookbush Institute. “We built the HMS to be used Monday morning, and we put it inside a membership so the price is the price. For physical therapists, athletic trainers, and chiropractors, it is the ther-ex class we deserved in school.”
