Springfield, MO, November 4, 2026 — Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has confirmed that kicker Harrison Butker is slated to play in the team’s upcoming game against the New York Jets. The confirmation comes as the team faces the Jets on Sunday.

This decision follows a period of scrutiny for Butker, particularly after a recent missed field goal that had significant implications for the team. Furthermore, statistics indicate that Butker has accumulated a league-leading number of missed kicks over the course of the current season.

Reid’s confirmation suggests that the coaching staff maintains confidence in Butker’s ability to perform, despite the recent performance issues and the statistical anomaly of his missed kicks this season. The New York Jets game presents a critical opportunity for Butker to rebound and demonstrate his reliability on the field. The outcome of the game could be influenced by the performance of the kicking unit, making this confirmation a point of focus for analysts and fans alike.

Information regarding specific instances of missed field goals, beyond the recent one mentioned, was not detailed in the provided summary. Similarly, the exact number of Butker’s missed kicks leading to his league-leading status was not specified.
